Hi Teresa,
By the time March arrives, something subtle often begins to shift.
The days stretch a little longer. The air softens. Signs of life begin to return to the world around us.
And inside a grieving heart, the season can feel more complicated.
Sometimes March brings a quiet question many people don’t talk about:
Am I allowed to begin moving forward?
If that question has crossed your mind, I want you to know you’re not alone.
What This Season Is Asking of Us
Moving forward after loss is rarely a dramatic moment.
It doesn’t arrive with certainty or a clear path. More often, it shows up as a small whisper, a tiny shift in energy, curiosity, or willingness.
And with that whisper can come unexpected feelings: guilt… hesitation… even fear.
When love has been deep, the idea of “moving forward” can feel like leaving something behind.
And forward motion doesn’t erase love. It simply means life is still unfolding. And you are allowed to unfold with it.
A Gentle Reflection
Courage is often misunderstood. We imagine courage as something bold or fearless, and in reality, it often looks much quieter.
Sometimes courage is simply this:
Getting up again tomorrow. Allowing a moment of laughter. Making a small decision about what you need next.
Not because the grief is gone but because your heart is learning how to carry both love and life at the same time.

The Gentle Practice: One Small Step
This month isn’t about big decisions or dramatic changes.
Instead, you might gently ask yourself:
What small step feels possible for me right now?
Where do I feel even the slightest sense of readiness?
What part of my life is asking for a little attention or care?
What would moving forward gently look like for me?
Remember — forward motion in grief often happens in inches, not miles.
And inches are still movement.

Upcoming Gatherings & Gentle Invitations

These gatherings are not about fixing grief or rushing healing. They are simply places to pause, breathe, and be supported by others who understand
When Strong Isn’t Working Anymore A Free Community Gathering
Beginning March 17, I’ll be hosting a new in-person gathering called When Strong Isn’t Working Anymore.
This space is for those who feel tired of holding everything together, the ones who have been strong for everyone else for a long time.
There will be space to talk, reflect, and simply be in the presence of others who understand that strength sometimes needs a place to rest.
It will be held the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Collinsville Memorial Library – Blum House.
If this resonates with you, I would love for you to come.
